our story

Oakley House
Children's Home

Oakley House Children Homes Ltd was created to help support the most difficult and challenging young people who are vulnerable. We provide a safe, caring and warm environment for children to grow and develop into young adults. We strive to encourage and foster good outcomes for young people and give them the skills to not only fit in within society but to excel and shine.

Our responsible individual Noor Ali has over 35 years’ worth of experience working within the social care sector. His vision for many years was to open a chain of residential children’s home that is different from the rest, that looks after the interest of the child first and not the company. He is the founder of this organisation and continues to provide great outcomes in changing the lives of children in care.

At Oakley House, we provide a family living environment where young people can learn to value and develop personal relationships by providing situations and experiences that encourage trust, self-esteem, and mutual respect.

Our child-centered environment enables young people to receive positive role modeling and guidance through continuity of reliable relationships and consistent nurturing care.

We create a safe, non-judgmental environment to encourage age-appropriate development and positive future outcomes. Our aim is to support, guide and assist young people in making their own decisions about their lives, and to teach them how to replace negative, often self-destructive behavior patterns with alternative methods of coping.

We encourage young people to recognize their own strengths, individuality, and potential for development and independence.  With this in mind, we work closely with the local authority and other agencies to ensure the stability and well-being of the placement, along with optimal opportunities for the young person.

At Oakley House Children's Home, we are dedicated to providing a stable and caring environment for vulnerable children, young people, and adults across the UK. Our work has given hundreds of of young adults opportunities they may have otherwise missed out on. We’re proud to work with Local Authorities and Trusts across the UK, and for decades we’ve matched each person with the most appropriate schools and residential placements. Working closely with them we make sure every placement serves the best interests of the children and young people, and helps them achieve the best possible outcomes.

Oakley House Children's Home operates as an independent children’s home that works closely with local authorities to provide a specialist fostering service for children and young people. When local authorities are unable to place a child with one of their own foster carers, they seek the services of homes like Oakley House Children's Home to find a suitable foster home with one of our foster carers instead. By providing this extra support, we help local authorities meet the demands placed on care services and ensure that children and young people receive the care they deserve.

As a Social Enterprise, Oakley House Children's Home reinvests any surplus income back into the services we provide. This strengthens our ability to provide excellent care for the children and young people in our care, support our foster carers, and empower our staff and others involved in fostering.

At Oakley House Children's Home, we’re always focused on reducing the risk of child sexual exploitation. By training our internal teams, we raise awareness of how to spot the signs and signals of exploitation of children.

By teaching colleagues and carers across the group how to observe and stop exploitation of children, as well as what to do in such circumstances, we make sure that everyone associated with us is informed to act effectively in safeguarding the vulnerable young people in our care.

This commitment demonstrates how seriously we take this issue, and that we’re steadfastly committed to working together and tackling child sexual exploitation.
